The service was awful. We were given no attention and they took at least 5 minutes between tastings. When a group came in they were immediately looked after and given premium service which is ridiculous considering that we always buy wine whenever we go tasting. Wines were very expensive. Whites were ok but reds were horribly sweet with low alcohol content they had no body. Give this place a miss.

We went there as a spur of the moment thing, on holidays, it was overcast. What a delightful place. Tranquil ambience, excellent service, friendly accommodating staff and the food was absolutely delicious. The wine matched it with quality and price. What a hidden gem and we cant believe we have only just found it. On top of that a really fine duet performed with some really wonderful music, that girl can really sing ala Vonda Shepherd. Wow!

The first winery we visited on our trip to the South Coast in December. Unfortunately we missed the turn off but we eventually got their in the end. The entrance to this beautiful winery was spectacular. Definitely not the same as your typical Hunter Valley winery, however the view is nothing short of amazing. We had no booking for lunch though we managed to gather a table for 6. We first completed a wine tasting to which we had to pay for (no issues), to which was then taken of the price of the wine we purchased. We later on purchased 3 cases. Unfortunately there was no craft beer left for takeaways, but I've heard good things from our friends in Shellharbour. We sat down and had 3 courses to which both main and entre was delightful. Our friends enjoyed the lamb and we thought that the wine paring was perfect for our meal. Dessert wasn't bad, but I'm not much of dessert person. Overall I must say we were very impressed with the business and we will be back before you know it. Special thanks to our friends Stacey and Mitchell who drove us to this lovely gem, great stop off down to the coast.

Very scenic setting with lovely valley views. We stumbled upon this place by chance on a rainy afternoon. The tasting room is rather poor and unimaginative in design, layout. The staff (2 ladies) weren't at all overly welcoming nor that informative. A bus tour of seniors had just departed and the tasting room/ cellar door was quite disheveled. Guess they aren't used to more than a few people showing up. They want $7 per person for tasting of 5 wines. The samples were small for Australia standards (typically tastings are liberal and free). Anyway, we had some tastings and liked some of the reds, all $31 per bottle. One particular red we liked happened to be on special that day at $180 per case (regular $280), so we bought a case. They have daily specials but you need to ask. What a terrible way to run a business.Except for the wine deal, it was our poorest cellar door experience in Australia. Anyway, the deal was too good to pass up, so we took it and left. We did not pay for the tastings and thankfully they didn't ask.

We had an amazing time at Crooked River Winery, its a short drive from Sydney taking in the scenic south coast .The Chef is Dane Tobias , he studied and worked with Jamie Oliver in London and also with Rick Steins. He took the time to come out and meet us .The food is out of this world .Best Pork Belly I have ever had ( better than Mr Wongs )The Oysters are sensational, my wife rated them best ever .The Staff are warm and personable with attention to detail. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with clean open space and a view to die for over the valley. The wines are fresh and can hold their own with many other well known regions .If your looking for somewhere new and memorable to get away for the day , do yourself a favour and head to Crooked River Winery, we are actually going back today .
